January 2009 Class Descriptions...

We have several new classes being offered in January. Below you will find descriptions as well as photos of the completed projects. Please refer to the calendar for additional classes and knitting groups. Happy knitting!


Vintage Ascot Scarf

Exclusive pattern from The Nest! A soft cashmere, superchunky Ascot-style scarf featuring unique ties and stylish stitch patterns. This intermediate class features the Brioche stitch, SKP, and Knit-on increase.

Class costs $40 for 4 one-hour sessions.

Schedule:
Fridays, 11:00am - January 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th

Long-Tail Wrap

This is a beautiful pattern designed by Laura Bryant for Prism Yarns. It is a slightly fitted shawl with "arms" (or "tails") which are used to tie the wrap. It is easy to knit (great for beginners!) horizontally on circular needles. The class features stockinette stitch, reverse stockinette, pick up and knit, and ribbing.

Class costs $30 for 3 one-hour sessions.

MaggiKnits Cotton Wrap (photo coming soon)
Pattern: "La Alhambra" from Book # 11 - Squares and Frills

This stunning wrap uses Maggie Jackson's tube, ladder stitch, moss stitch, and other unique stitch combinations to knit a lovely cotton and linen wrap that can be worn several ways. This class is designated for intermediate knitters.

Class costs $40 for 4 one-hour sessions.

Wednesdays, 5:00pm - January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th



Seed Stitch Cabled Scarf (photo coming soon)
This is a fun and stylish scarf pattern that is a great way to learn new skills such as seed stitch and cabling.

Cost is $20 for 2 one-hour sessions.

Thursday, 11:00am - January 22nd and 29th

If you're in the mood for a fun and easy hat pattern that shows off both your school spirit and your knitting skills, then join us for this class!

Class costs $20 and includes 2 one-hour sessions.

Checkered Hat Class

We have scheduled a new class for the new year! Show off your school spirit and your knitting skills with this fun and easy hat pattern.

The hat is knit in the round on 16" circulars and dpn's. The recommended yarn is Filatura di Crosa ZARA PLUS, which is machine-washable and ultra-soft. The Nest carries a wide variety of colors, including everyone's favorites: Mountaineer Gold and Blue!

The class which includes two 1-hour sessions, costs $20, and is scheduled for:
